Echo crystal & relics

Two Aether-only treasures: one mined, one unearthed.

Echo crystal

  • Pink glowing ore found only in the Aether, in island cores and cave walls.
  • A pickaxe is required. Anything else yields nothing.
  • Veins are rare. It still has to survive the trip home.

Echo tools

  • A full tool and weapon set crafted from crystal, using the same shapes as diamond gear.
  • Stronger than their diamond equivalents. The blade carries a level requirement.
  • Crystal and diamonds do not substitute for each other.
  • The guild appraiser also buys crystal in bulk.

Relics

  • Ancient objects that tumble free at random while digging Aether stone. You cannot mine for them directly.
  • Rarity varies, and so does the price. The Relic Appraiser at the Relic Hunters' Guild buys them.
  • Lookalikes sold elsewhere are worthless.
  • The Aether Hunter always carries one. Kill it and a relic is guaranteed, quality varies.
  • Relics have no use beyond gold yet.

The economy of the sky

  • A run pays several ways at once: crystal for tools or bulk sale, relics for the appraiser, chest loot, and gold from kills.
  • Against one rule: lose a fight up there and the whole haul goes into the void. Sell often.
